Delegate Anders moved to amend the bill on page 1, immediately following the article heading, by inserting the following new section:

Ҥ18-2-10b. Privacy protections for student participation in shooting teams.

(a) No public school, county board of education, or state agency may create, maintain, or disclose a registry, database, or list of individual students participating in air rifle or rimfire rifle shooting teams, except as required for standard athletic eligibility or safety purposes directly related to the administration of such programs.

(b) Any data collected for administrative purposes must be limited to the minimum necessary and may not be used to profile, track, or share information regarding student firearm use or training outside the context of the approved school program.

(c) Any violation of this section shall be considered an unauthorized disclosure of student educational records and subject to appropriate disciplinary and legal action.”
